Gaza Field Executions New Page in Israel Crimes Book

Gaza Field Executions New Page in Israel Crimes Book

While Israelis claim that their Gaza war is aimed at obliterating Hamas, 80 days after start of the campaign; it is now clear to everyone that Israeli occupation army’s fight is with civilians not the resistance groups.

Despite killing and injuring tens of thousands of people of Gaza, the Israeli army is not settled with this large scale of crimes and is putting on agenda street executions. In this connection, Ashraf al-Qudra, the spokesman for Gaza Health Ministry in an interview with Aljazeera accused Israeli forces of several atrocious massacres that killed tens of thousands of people of Gaza in Jabalia and Tel Al-Za’atar refugee camps. Al-Qudra added that the Israelis massacred tens of citizens in the streets in front of their families.

The government office of Gaza media said it collected documents showing that the Israeli army executed over 137 civilians in Gaza City and northern areas, where it struck first.

"The Zionist army dug large pits and put dozens of our Palestinian citizens alive in them, and then executed them with direct fire and then buried them with a bulldozer," said its statement.

The elderly not immune to Israeli executions

The Israeli crime of executing the civilians in public is not hidden from rights organizations as they confirm the Israeli barbarism in Gaza. The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor on Saturday in a report said that Israeli army has turned schools sheltering tens of thousands of displaced people into military centers and field execution sites as part of its ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, which began on 7 October.

Around 15 dead Palestinians’ decomposed bodies were found in Al-Falujah neighbourhood, west of the Jabalia camp. Based upon its initial investigation, Euro-Med Monitor confirmed that the individuals were subjected to field executions while being questioned by members of the Israeli army at the Shadia Abu Ghazaleh government school.

The bodies were discovered following the Israeli army’s withdrawal from the surrounding area of the school, following several days of abuses and violations against displaced people evacuating there.

The monitoring organization held that it receives daily reports of horrific atrocities and killings committed by Israeli forces, who regularly storm schools sheltering displaced people, and called for an independent and impartial international investigation into these egregious incidents.

Asserting that the Israeli forces shot tens of elders in Gaza with direct fire, Euro-Med added: "The majority of them were crushed to death under the debris of their homes or the shelter centers where they sought safety after Israeli aircraft bombed their homes, or while being forced to seek basic necessities in the streets and marketplaces. Alarmingly, however, dozens were targeted in killings and field executions."

According to New Arab news, the occupation soldiers force the elderly Gazans to walk 12 kilometers from western Gaza to Nuseirat Camp in central Gaza. They walk through areas controlled by Israeli tanks and armored vehicles to cities, with some executed midway.

Ismail Thawabeta, Gaza government press secretary, said that some of the displaced people were shot dead after Israeli force told them to move ahead. Bodies of some of them were left on the ground and some were transferred by their families to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

A number of eyewitnesses have revealed details of the occupation army’s field executions in Gaza. One of the Gaza refugees, who asked for anonymity, told New Arab that Israeli forces separated children and women from men, ordered the men to take off their clothes completely, interrogated them, and then forced them to leave the school. When the refugees moved, the Israelis randomly shot them and killed 5 and injured a number of others.

The New Arab reported that Bashir Hajji, a 79-year-old resident of Gaza City’s Zaytoun neighborhood who was seen in a photo standing next to a soldier while travelling on the Gaza Strip’s main Salah al-Din Road to southern Gaza to promote the lie of "safe corridors" and the Israeli soldiers claimed to help him cross the street was shot dead in the head.

Israeli army not accepting responsibility

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on Wednesday reported that it received reports that the Israeli forces killed 11 unarmed Palestinians in horrific war crime in Gaza. It called on Tel Aviv to probe war crimes committed by its forces, but Tel Aviv says these are baseless claims.

The Israeli army did not specifically comment on the accusations related to field executions, but the army spokesman claimed in a conversation with AFP that their attacks aim military targets and are in accordance with international law and are carried out after evaluating possible damages to civilians.

Israeli officials claim that all Gaza residents that support Hamas are terrorists and are legitimate to kill. That is why they show no mercy with anyone in this besieged enclave. The Israelis claim that Hamas is hiding behind the civilians while they seek to confront its forces, but in the meantime civilians fall victim and Tel Aviv considers Hamas the party to blame for the civilian lives losses. With this Israeli justification, it can be concluded that Israel sees no limits in its operations and considers the civilian losses legitimate no matter how much they are horrific.

The Israeli occupation clings to the policy of mass punishment, starvation, terror, and mass execution to force the Palestinians out of their homes to realize its plan of full occupation of Gaza without interruption and to feign it as a triumph to the Israeli settlers.

The Palestinians who move to southern Gaza pose no threat to the occupation forces, but it seems that the Israelis are executing some people to increase the casualties of the people of Gaza and even for fun in order to reverse their defeat against Hamas.

The genocide in Gaza brazenly gives away the Israeli disregard of the international and human rights laws and represents a serious violation of the rules of war and even Israeli experts confirm it. The prominent Israeli journalist and political commentator Nahum Barnea and military affairs commentator Ron Ben-Yishai wrote on Saturday in Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper that field executions in Gaza are not an incident but crimes that are a source of shame and scandal and represent a defeat for the Israeli army.
