Speaking to spokespersons of the IEA on Thursday, January 7, 2022, the acting Foreign Minister said financial resources of Afghanistan have been protected and that has prevented economic fall.

Amir Khan Motaqi said that the interim government has so far paid salaries of three months and is preparing for paying the fourth month’s salary.

"Pressures on Afghanistan’s banks are decreasing day by day and the international community has also provided cash to Afghanistan." Said Motaqi.

The remarks come as the UN has repeatedly warned of the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and has called on the International Community not to spare efforts for getting Afghan people out of the disaster.
