Bayern Munich have clinched their 2nd German Cup in a row after eliminating Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 at Olympiastadion in Berlin.
The newly crowned Bundesliga champions got on the score sheet when David Alaba sent an exquisite free-kick into the right-hand corner 16 minutes into the match.
Then 8 minutes later, Serge Gnabry put the Bavarians in cruise control with powerful low shot from inside the box. Polish striker Robert Lewandowski made it 3-nil in the hour mark with long-range shot which was fumbled in by Leverkusen goalkeeper.
Leverkusen opened their account in the 64th minute when Sven Bender scored with powerful header from close range. But Lewandowski scored his brace with a chip over the keeper in the 89th minute to put the result beyond doubt.
Finally, Kai Havertz hammered home from the penalty spot after Alabas handball was spotted by Var in the stoppage time. With the result Bayern Munich wrapped up a domestic double for a second successive season and set a record 20th German Cup and 13th domestic double.
