Barcelona Achieves Important Victory Over Alavés and Temporarily Tops the Standings

Barcelona secured an important 3-1 win against Deportivo Alavés in the match held as part of the 14th round of the Spanish League at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium, allowing the Catalan team to continue their pressure in the race for the top spot.

Deportivo Alavés surprised Barcelona with an early goal in the first minute by Pablo Ibáñez, before the young star Lamine Yamal quickly equalized in the eighth minute following a strong offensive performance by the home team.

Barcelona managed to add the second goal in the 26th minute through Dani Olmo, securing their lead and effectively deciding the match in their favor despite some attempts by the visitors in the second half.

Barcelona players were not satisfied with this result and continued their offensive pressure until they succeeded in scoring the third goal in the 90+3rd minute, again by Dani Olmo.

With this victory, Barcelona raised their tally to 34 points, leading the Spanish League standings, while Deportivo Alavés remained at 15 points in fourteenth place.

Real Madrid stands in second place with 32 points, with their match in the same round against Girona scheduled for tomorrow evening at 10 PM Cairo time.

Olmo: We succeeded in controlling the match, and happy with the return of Raphinha and Pedri

Dani Olmo, Barcelona player, expressed his great happiness after the 3-1 victory over Deportivo Alavés, confirming that the team managed to turn the course of the match around despite the difficult start.

Olmo said: "Alavés` goal was a bit surprising, but the team handled the situation excellently, stuck to our plan, and I believe we controlled the match and in the end succeeded in winning."

He added: "Alavés had their chance; they are a team that plays good football, but we also have Juan who delivered a great match and always shows up when we need him."

Olmo continued: "I am very happy with the two goals; playing here is a dream come true for me, especially when I score and help the team achieve victory."

He went on to say: "We are happy with the return of the largest number of players, and glad to see Raphinha and Pedri back, and we look forward to seeing more of them with the team in the upcoming period."

Flick: Happy with Rafinha`s Return, We Must Improve Our Performance

Hans Flick, the head coach of Barcelona, expressed his happiness with the team`s 3-1 victory over Deportivo Alavés in the 14th round of the Spanish league, emphasizing that the team still needs to improve in certain areas despite securing the three points.

In his post-match comments, Flick said: "Rafinha always brings important dynamism to our play. He has great intensity, and when he starts pressing, it makes everyone press. He needs to improve in the upcoming matches, but it`s great that he`s back."

The German coach continued speaking about Raphinha and Pedri, saying: "I am very happy with their return. Managing their minutes wasn`t easy; Raphinha was only able to play for 60 minutes, and Pedri for 30 minutes. I`m pleased with the three points, but I`m not satisfied with some situations because we lost the ball many times. Despite that, we managed the game well."

Flick added about Pedri`s readiness to face Atlético Madrid: "We`ll see how he is tomorrow after recovering. Time is tight, but Pedri is fine; I asked him, and Rafinha is also doing well. He showed great dynamism and intensity, and I am also happy with Dani Olmo. He has had a tough few weeks and scored two goals today."

He continued speaking about the cases of expulsions on the bench, saying: "I was unable to speak with De la Fuente and Marcos, and I asked the fourth official but he didn`t say anything. I was calm and communicated with him well. These situations need to be managed with the referees, but I felt that communication was lacking. I was respectful and only asked for an explanation."

Flick also praised the team player Gerard Martin, saying: "He always gives 100%, has great confidence in the center-back position, and provides us with additional options."

The German coach continued talking about the team`s performance: "In the first half, we had many chances to score, and the same in the second half. We need to improve, but I am happy to have secured the three points. This is the level we can deliver."

In a comment regarding the call-up of goalkeeper Juan Garcia to the national team, he said: "This is not my decision. It`s always difficult to include a new player, but he is one of the players with a great future. However, the decision is not mine."

He added about Mark Bernal: "What he delivered today was an important step for him. He played 45 minutes, which is a first step that gives him confidence. We need everyone, and his progress is very positive. I am happy for him."

Flick continued his statements by talking about Eric Garcia`s condition, saying: "He was feeling pain from a hit he took. He is fine, but we decided to give him a rest because he couldn`t play while experiencing this pain."

Regarding the difference between Barcelona this season and last season, he said: "We no longer have the same control or strength that we had last season. I`m not worried about last season; I need to focus on this season. This season, we have suffered more injuries, whereas last season I saw everyone ready. Our performance has improved after every match and every win, and this season is going well with four consecutive victories, but we can`t be satisfied with that; we need to keep improving."

About Marc Casado: "It wasn`t easy for him; he played in the number 8 and 6 positions, and even as a center-back. He had to adapt. We have to take the changes into account. He can improve, but I am happy with him. He gives us control in defense and links defense with attack. He is smart and intelligent, and we need him at his best."

He concluded his statements by talking about Dani Olmo: "I believe everyone knows that Dani is a wonderful player. Sometimes he wants more and tries to take the next step before the first one. He might overthink things, and I`ve told him that. I advise him to enjoy the game because he is a great player. This is the best moment in a footballer`s life-when they compete. He has enjoyed it too. I tell everyone to enjoy the moment and be the best player they can be, and that`s what we want from him as well. Fans want to see players giving their best."
