Israeli airstrikes and gunfire have killed at least five Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, as the regime has escalated its violations of a ceasefire agreement with Palestinian resistance factions.

In the first incident, an airstrike struck two people riding an electric bike in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, on Tuesday.

Later, an Israeli drone fire killed a woman in Deir al-Balah, while regime forces shot dead a man in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. Another man was killed by Israeli gunfire in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

Gaza`s Government Media Office reported on Tuesday that Israeli forces had violated the "ceasefire" agreement 1,620 times in Gaza, killing at least 573 people and wounding 1,553 since it came into effect in October of last year. The office added that 292 of the victims were children, women, and the elderly.

In Gaza City, dozens of Palestinians rallied at the funerals of three people who were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit an apartment building on Monday night.

Since its genocidal assault on Gaza on October 7, 2023, the occupying entity has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians and wounded over 171,000, the majority of whom are women and children.

In January, the Trump administration declared the start of the second phase of the ceasefire, during which the parties were to negotiate the future governance and reconstruction of the devastated territory.

Key issues, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces from more than 50% of Gaza that they occupy, remain unresolved, while the fragile ceasefire continues to be marred by near-daily violence.
