Israeli military aircraft have carried out a series of airstrikes against multiple locations in southern Lebanon, in another near-daily violation of a ceasefire agreement with the Arab country, which went into effect in November 2024.

Lebanon`s official National News Agency (NNA) reported on Monday that Israeli attacks targeted the Aqmata and Louaizeh Heights in the Iqlim al-Tuffah highlands in the early hours of the morning.

There was no immediate information about possible casualties and the extent of damage caused.

Shortly afterwards, Israeli units fired bursts of machine gunfire from the occupation site in al-Bayyad town of the Tyre district towards the outskirts of Blida town. No deaths or injuries were reported.

There are also reports of Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles flying at low altitude over the city of Tyre and nearby villages.

Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes deep inside Lebanon on Sunday evening, hitting the heights of Meidoun and Jabbour at least 10 times.

Israeli fighter jets also carried out two strikes against Wadi Barghaz and struck the Kassarat al-Aroush area in the Rihan Heights of southern Lebanon on two occasions.

Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon on Sunday killed two people, with Israel`s military claiming it struck Hezbollah targets.

Lebanon`s Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that "an Israeli enemy raid" near the town of Khirbet Selm killed one person and wounded another five.

It said a separate strike in the village of Derdghaya killed one more person.

The Israeli army claimed it struck a "weapons manufacturing site" in the area of Khirbet Selm, where it had "identified the activity of Hezbollah members."

It also reported a strike in the Derdghaya area, claiming it attacked a member of the group there.

The army said it struck "military infrastructure sites belonging to Hezbollah" in the eastern Bekaa area as well.

National News Agency said one of the strikes in the south targeted a hangar, while the one in Derdghaya targeted a car.

In October 2023, Israel initiated strikes against Lebanon, which intensified into a full-blown war by September 2024. This war resulted in the killing of over 4,000 individuals and left around 17,000 others injured.

Ceasefire breaches by Israel have resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Lebanese citizens.

Meanwhile, Israel remains in control of five hilltops in Lebanon that were taken during the most recent war, alongside other regions it has occupied for many years.
