The tech billionaire appeared to give Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) the easiest layup of her career by amplifying an easily debunked conspiracy theory about her.

Elon Musk was publicly shamed on his own social media platform Monday after he attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) - and she dismantled his "laughable" allegation against her for everyone to see.

The tech billionaire and world`s richest man reshared a graphic on X suggesting Democrats support illegal immigration in order to absorb noncitizens into their party as loyal voters. Musk accused Omar, who was born in Somalia, of benefiting from this supposed scheme.

He wrote, "This has been happening for years. Ilhan Omar is the most obvious example. A large number of relatively recently arrived Somalis will elect only a Somali to Congress in that Minnesota district. This is much more subtle, but just as bad, in many other parts of America."

Musk, who famously helped elect President Donald Trump last year with a quarter-billion-dollar campaign infusion, appeared not to have done his homework - as Omar easily debunked his theory with one simple fact about her congressional district in Minnesota.

"You are one of the dumbest people on earth, my district is literally a majority white district," Omar wrote in response while resharing Musk`s post. "Your conspiracy theories are laughable and should have no place in a society that cares about facts."

While his devoted acolytes were quick to attack Omar in the comments, Musk`s own AI chatbot Grok backed her up: When a user asked about Omar`s constituency, it cited census data from 2023 to 2024 to note the 5th Congressional District she represents is approximately 60% white.

Grok did add that it holds America`s largest Somali population - but only "at about 3%."

Musk fans were quick to argue that Omar didn`t debunk his claim, as she could still ostensibly benefit from the supposed influx of undocumented workers - even though it`s illegal for them to vote in state elections and criminal voting by noncitizens is almost nonexistent.

Originally posted by a self-described "unapologetic believer in American exceptionalism," the graphic accuses Democrats of engaging in a quid pro quo with undocumented workers by helping them "flood" the country in exchange for helping the party "Win elections."

Musk, a soon-to-be trillionaire, has regularly shared lies and misrepresentations on X.

Last year, Musk amplified the false claim that millions of new voters had registered in swing states without proof of citizenship and reshared a fake "affidavit" from a supposed "whistleblower" claiming ABC News had rigged the presidential debate it hosted against Trump.

Musk has also amplified the "replacement theory" accusing Democratic elites of "importing" undocumented workers to replace white people, and recently reshared a post warning white men in the U.S. "will be slaughtered" if they ever become a minority.

Omar`s district is roiling since last week`s fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother killed by a U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement officer. Omar herself has endured untold threats of deportation from Trump and his loyalists.

Her dunk against Musk, meanwhile, did not go unnoticed by his critics on social media.
