The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Afghanistan`s ambassador to formally lodge a strong protest over the joint statement issued by the Taliban and India regarding the Kashmir dispute, calling the position a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

According to AnsarPress, Pakistan`s Foreign Ministry released a statement announcing that the Afghan ambassador had been summoned to convey Islamabad`s "strong objection". The move follows the publication of a joint communiqué between Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban`s acting foreign minister, and Indian officials in New Delhi.

In the joint statement, both sides expressed concern over terrorist attacks in Indian-administered Kashmir and referred to Kashmir as part of India`s sovereign territory. Pakistan denounced the declaration as a blatant violation of UN Security Council resolutions on the disputed status of Kashmir, describing the stance as "unacceptable and contrary to international law."

Pakistan also rejected Amir Khan Muttaqi`s claim that "terrorism is an internal issue of Pakistan," stressing that the Taliban cannot evade their international obligations to maintain regional peace and security.

The statement further noted that while Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees for decades, it reserves the right to regulate the stay of foreign nationals within its borders. At the same time, Islamabad reaffirmed its commitment to issuing medical and educational visas for Afghan citizens.

The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan emphasized that, despite efforts to facilitate social and economic cooperation with Afghanistan, it expects the Taliban government to take concrete steps to prevent terrorist groups from using Afghan soil to carry out attacks against Pakistan.

This diplomatic confrontation marks a sharp escalation in tensions between Islamabad and Kabul, as Pakistan views the Taliban`s alignment with India-particularly on the Kashmir issue-as a serious breach of regional trust and neutrality.
