Ex-Israeli PM Barak asked for Epstein’s help for Trump’s interview with Israeli news outlets, docs show
Newly released documents have revealed that former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak sought the help of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to arrange an interview with US President Donald Trump for Israeli media. Among the over three million pages of documents made public by the US Department of Justice concerning the investigation of Epstein, there is a September 7, 2016, email from the former Israeli politician addressed to the American financier and human trafficker. This correspondence was sent when Trump and Hillary Clinton were vying for the presidency in the United States. In his email, Barak noted that an exclusive interview with Clinton had been set up by Israel`s Channel 2 news. He requested Epstein to assess whether Trump would be interested in participating in a comparable interview with the rival Channel 10, which he believed would draw in "a large portion of Israelis and a majority of American citizens in Israel." Barak additionally wrote that Channel 10 was willing to dispatch "their top anchor, a talented and upbeat blonde woman," to the US. On Friday, over 3 million pages of documents related to Epstein were unveiled by the US Department of Justice. A declassified FBI memo from the Epstein files revealed that Trump was "compromised by Israel." The memo was written in 2020 during an FBI investigation into improper domestic and foreign influence on the US electoral process. According to the document, Chabad-Lubavitch-an ultra-Orthodox Zionist cult-sought to exert influence over Trump`s first term in office. Trump`s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is identified in the memo as a supporter of Chabad-Lubavitch. The memo further states that Epstein worked for both US and foreign spy agencies, including Israel`s Mossad. Trump, who later denied having close ties to Epstein, is referenced more than 1,000 times in the three million newly released Epstein-related documents. In 2019, Epstein was discovered dead in his jail cell in New York City, where he was held while waiting for his trial concerning sex trafficking charges.
