President Masoud Pezeshkian`s two-day trip to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan will feature sealing trade deals and attending a regional peace summit.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has left Tehran for a two-day trip to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, his office said, aiming to seal trade deals and attend a regional peace summit.

The Iranian president left Tehran for Astana on Wednesday. His chief of staff Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei told reporters that Pezeshkian`s first stop will be Kazakhstan for an official visit at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Speaking at Mehrabad Airport before leaving for Astana, Pezeshkian said his trip to Kazakhstan will provide "a suitable opportunity and context for deepening economic, industrial, mineral, as well as cultural and transport relations with this country".

According to Haji-Mirzaei, several cooperation agreements on expanding trade between the two countries are set to be finalized during the visit to Astana.

Haji-Mirzaei added that a delegation of ministers is accompanying the president for talks in key areas, including transportation, commerce, and economic cooperation.

He underlined that a large delegation from Iran`s Chamber of Commerce has already traveled to Kazakhstan ahead of Pezeshkian`s visit.

The chief of staff of the presidential office said the delegation is currently holding talks with Kazakh business groups to explore potential fields of partnership, adding that a joint meeting with Iranian and Kazakh merchants, attended by the president, is also scheduled to take place in Astana.

Pezeshkian said experts and joint commissions "have planned good agreements in the areas of economic, cultural, industrial, mineral issues, roads, transport and logistics between the two countries."

"Our relations with Muslim countries should be closer, more sincere and deeper based on our beliefs and convictions," and that nations "should try to help each other and share our experiences," he said.

Following the Kazakhstan visit, the Iranian delegation will head to Turkmenistan, where an international summit revolving around peace will be held with several heads of state in attendance.

The chief of staff confirmed that Pezeshkian will deliver an official address at the event in the capital Ashgabat and hold bilateral meetings with a number of presidents and prime ministers.

Pezeshkian said he will travel to Turkmenistan at the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to attend the World Conference on Dialogue for Peace and Trust, where regional leaders have been invited.

He described it as "a suitable opportunity to express our views on international peace and stability," criticizing "a lot of warmongering by those claiming peace, security and humanity in the region," where "we are faced with crime and genocide against women and children" that drag people "to death through hunger, thirst and disease."

He said the summit offers a chance for "frank conversations" with regional leaders to establish "peace and trust not only in words but in practice in our country, region and the world."

The trip builds on prior economic discussions, including joint free trade zones, border markets, gas contracts, and infrastructure like electricity lines and roads.

Pezeshkian`s visit to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan underscores the Islamic Republic`s push to deepen economic, trade, and cultural ties with Central Asian countries amid shared regional frameworks and alliances like ECO, SCO, and BRICS+.

The visits signal Iran`s strategy to leverage deep religious, cultural, and civilizational ties for greater Eurasian integration and economic resilience against regional tensions.

Central Asia serves as a bridge for multi-layered relations in sectors such as oil, gas, agriculture, and environment, with the outreach countering geopolitical challenges while promoting connectivity.
