Iran`s weightlifting team won the world title for the first time in eight years, earning a major victory for the country`s sports community.

Competing in Førde, Norway, the Iranian team - featuring Abdollah Beiranvand, Ilya Salehipour, Alireza Moeini, Ali Alipour, Abolfazl Zare, Ayat Sharifi and Ali Davoudi - collected one gold, four silver and one bronze medal, finishing with a total of 388 points to secure the top spot in the overall standings.

North Korea and the United States finished the second and third, respectively.

The Iranian team, led by head coach Behdad Salimi, claimed the world team championship for the second time in its history.
