The Wolesi Jirga's (Lower House of Parliament) administrative board on Saturday accused President Ashraf Ghani of inability to lead the country and said he has an autocratic behavior towards the parliament.

The MPs said the president should step down if he cannot lead the country.

Government has been damaged under your administration and your leadership, the Wolesi Jirga first deputy speaker Humayun Humayun said. If you (President Ashraf Ghani) are unable to run the country or it is above your capability, please send your resignation to the parliament.

Let us give a medal to the National Unity Government (NUG) - the medal of incompetency, because the country's situation has worsened since the NUG's establishment, said Sadiqizada Nili, an MP from Daikundi.

The Wolesi Jirga administrative board also criticized the president over lack of cooperation with the parliament.

Parliament has worked on 36 legislations which include the approval of two law amendments, six legislative decrees and 12 international documents, said Abdul Qader Zazai, the secretary of the Wolesi Jirga.

Another MP, Farooq Majroh, said the MPs were ready to cancel their summer recess if the president wants to complete the cabinet and the legislations.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Palace said Ghani has always cooperated with the MPs.

President (Ashraf Ghani) believes in cooperation between the three pillars of the government. He has had consultative meetings with the parliament members and he has respected every decision made by the MPs, said Dawa Khan Minapal, a Presidential Palace spokesman, said.

Meanwhile, the Wolesi Jirga's first deputy speaker raised the issue of corruption in the parliament's secretariat.

He said there is corruption in contracts and appointments of the secretariat, adding that he will send the evidences, about this claim, to the Attorney General's Office.

We have received complaints and documents about widespread corruption in the parliaments' secretariat, in its procurement contracts and appointments. We tried many times to resolve the issue with the secretariat, he added.

The Wolesi Jirga's secretariat has not commented in this regard.
