Araghchi Travels to Muscat
Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, announced that Seyed Abbas Araghchi has departed for Muscat to conduct nuclear negotiations. According to AnsarPress, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson wrote on X on Thursday night (Tehran time) that Araghchi is heading a diplomatic delegation to Muscat for nuclear talks with the United States. Baghaei emphasized that this diplomatic engagement is being pursued "with confidence and authority, and with the aim of reaching a fair, mutually acceptable, and dignified understanding on the nuclear issue."
Referring to past U.S. noncompliance, he added that "the bitter experiences of the past-including previous breaches of commitments, the military aggression in June, and foreign interventions last January-are clearly before our eyes, and we always consider it our duty to assert the rights of the Iranian nation." The spokesperson further stated that, at the same time, Iran has a responsibility "not to miss any opportunity to use diplomacy to secure the interests of the Iranian people and to safeguard peace and stability in the region." Baghaei also expressed appreciation to "all friendly neighboring and regional countries that, with responsibility and genuine concern, played a role in facilitating this process," and voiced hope that the American side would participate "with responsibility, realism, and seriousness."
