Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a firm rebuttal to Donald Trump`s latest threat of renewed strikes against the country, vowing that any further aggression will be met with a crushing and "regret-inducing" response.

"The response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to any oppressive aggression will be severe and regret-inducing," President Pezeshkian wrote in a message on the X social media platform.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida on Monday, Trump threatened to "eradicate" any attempt by Tehran to advance its nuclear program or bolster its ballistic missile capabilities.

"I hope they`re not trying to build up again because if they are, we`re going to have no choice but very quickly to eradicate that buildup," Trump claimed, adding that a future US assault "may be more powerful than the last time."

This marked the first time Trump has explicitly threatened military action against Iran`s conventional missile program, a cornerstone of the country`s defensive doctrine.

The US joined the Israeli military aggression against Iran in June, striking three nuclear sites in the country.

Trump attempted to justify the aggression by repeating unverified claims that Iran could develop nuclear weapons within two months.

These assertions fly in the face of repeated confirmations from the IAEA and Iranian officials that the nation`s nuclear program is peaceful and intended for energy and medical advancement.

‘Missile capability not containable`

Separately, Ali Shamkhani, a political adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, warned on Monday that any miscalculation by the aggressors would trigger an "immediate harsh response."

"Iran`s #Missile_Capability and defense are not containable or permission-based. Any aggression will face an immediate #Harsh_Response beyond its planners` imagination," Shamkhani wrote on X.

For decades, the Islamic Republic has emphasized that its missile program is strictly deterrent and essential for protecting its people in a region saturated with American military bases and Western-backed occupation.

Tehran has categorically rejected recent demands by Western powers to limit the range of its missiles to 500 kilometers, noting that such restrictions would leave the country defenseless against long-range threats.

Furthermore, Tehran has dismissed Trump`s demands to dismantle its nuclear infrastructure, calling them a violation of the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty).

Instead, Iranian officials have called on Washington to end its complicity in Israeli atrocities and to abandon its policy of "maximum pressure" against the country.

Russia on Tuesday also reacted to Trump`s threat, urging all parties to refrain from escalation.

"We believe that it is necessary to refrain from any steps that could escalate tensions in the region, and we believe that, first and foremost, dialogue with Iran is necessary," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
