As of Saturday morning, over 2,080 flights traveling from, into and within the U.S. have been delayed and 191 have been canceled, according to FlightAware.com. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport accounts for most of the delays, with over 150 delays and 24 cancellations.

There`s an almost two hour ground delay at Colorado`s Aspen/Pitkin County Airport due to inclement weather and low ceilings, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

West Coast floods

An active weather pattern persists across the West Coast, where 16 million people are under flood alerts across California, Oregon and Washington.

A plume of moisture is targeting the region, where some alerts will be in place through next Friday. Rounds of heavy rain are anticipated through the weekend, specifically Sunday across northern California and the Bay Area.

Rainfall totals through Sunday will range from 2 to 4 inches, with up to 9 inches possible in some areas.

The National Weather Service advised residents to stay away from rivers and creeks, and plan for potential travel impacts, especially through Tuesday to Thursday.
