Mohammad Nabi Omari, Deputy Minister of Interior of the Taliban government, has rejected rumors suggesting that the Taliban may allow U.S. forces to return to Bagram Air Base, calling any such agreement "impossible" and warning that the Afghan people will not remain silent if such a move occurs.
According to AnsarPress, in a video statement released Friday, Omari said: "There will be no agreement with America over Bagram. There is absolutely no possibility of such an arrangement."
He further warned that if the United States attempts to reoccupy Bagram, Afghans will rise in resistance, declaring: "Just as before, you still have honor and courage. If they return, strike me first - then the next, and the next after me."
Omari also denied reports alleging Chinese involvement at Bagram or any negotiations with China regarding the base, stating: "Those claims are false and baseless."
The Bagram Air Base, located north of Kabul, served as the largest U.S. military installation in Afghanistan throughout the two-decade war and has recently become the focus of renewed political speculation amid discussions about regional security and U.S. strategic interests.
Omari`s remarks underscore the Taliban`s deep suspicion of Western military intentions and its attempt to project defiance amid growing internal and external pressures, framing the United States as a power seeking global domination and reaffirming that Afghanistan`s sovereignty and territory are not for negotiation.
