In a message posted on X on Sunday, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) expressed hope that girls in Afghanistan will also be allowed to receive an education.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), on the occasion of World Teachers` Day, has praised the country`s teachers, calling them the "builders of the nation`s future" and expressing appreciation for their efforts.

UNAMA wrote: "We hope that every girl and boy in Afghanistan will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and flourish under the guidance of dedicated teachers."

This message comes at a time when girls and women in Afghanistan remain deprived of all their fundamental human rights.

The Taliban have banned girls above the sixth grade from attending school.
