China, India and Russia have given hands for playing a constructive role in the reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
During a discussion on the issue of Afghanistan, representatives from the three countries said yesterday in Beijing that the security of Afghanistan is linked to the security of the region.
Hua Chunying, spokesman for China’s foreign ministry told media following the discussion that all three sides have agreed on playing constructive role in Afghan peace process as well as the economic reconstruction of the country.
She said “The three countries have agreed that the situation in Afghanistan is closely connected with the regional security and stability. As close neighbor of Afghanistan the three countries support peaceful reconciliation and economic reconstruction of Afghanistan and would like to play constructive role.”
Chunying added that the three countries also agreed on boosting communication and fully cooperating with efforts underway for the stability, development and security of Afghanistan.
Controversial reports published recently suggested that China hosted a meeting between representatives from Taliban militant group and Afghanistan’s High Peace Council.
Afghanistan’s High Peace Council says another meeting is expected between representatives from government and Taliban in coming few days.
