The Haqqani terrorist network has been accused for being involved in plotting and conducting a suicide attack in at the French Institute of Afghanistan in Estiqlal high school in Kabul.
The Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Friday that the a 15-year-old child was used to carry out on Thursday evening.
NDS spokesman Haseeb Sediqi said the child bomber was in school uniform and detonated his explosives among the gathering of the other students of Estiqlal high school.
At least one civilian who is believed to be a foreigner was killed and nearly 20 others were injured following the suicide attack.
The Taliban militants group in Afghanistan claimed responsibility behind the attack.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemned the suicide attack. “This deliberate targeting of civilians at a place for learning and culture is an atrocity that must be condemned in the strongest terms,” said the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan, Nicholas Haysom.
