Afghan intelligence foils coordinated suicide attacks plot in Khost

The Afghan intelligence operatives foiled numerous truck and car bombings plot in eastern Khost province of Afghanistan.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Sunday that a group of 14 Haqqani Network militants were arrested in connection to the attacks plot.

NDS following a statement said the group was looking to carry out a deadly truck bombing by detonating a truck laden with 6,800 kgs of explosives.

The statement further added that the group was looking to carry out car bombing by using 4 vehicles packed with explosives.

Afghan intelligence operatives also confiscated 4 motorcycles packed with explosives which were prepared for the attacks in busy and crowded areas of Khost city.

NDS said Afghan intelligence operatives also confiscated 99 pistols and various other types of explosives and ammunition from the detained militants.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
