In South Korea, from 16th to the 4th of November, the third round of mass plasma donation by 2,040 people from Shincheonji Church of Jesus was accomplished. So far, 3,741 people in South Korea participated in the donation during the three rounds.

This mass donation of plasma was carried out by the decision of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, a Christian group in South Korea that suffered from the spread of COVID-19 at the beginning of this year.

In the third round of mass donation, 2040 people from Shincheonji Church of Jesus voluntarily joined after they fully recovered from COVID-19.

My father passed away due to the COVID-19. I joined in donation with a thought that my father in heaven will also be supportive for what I do, said a woman who donated plasma.

It was reported that 41% (1,561 people) of the people donated plasma twice. As donation requires physical wellness, many of the donators attempted retaking tests.

And two people left the biggest contribution with their seven times of donation individually. Mr. Jo Young Rae, one of the biggest contributors, said, After being infected with COVID-19, I had a health problem that made daily life difficult, so after receiving treatment for two months, I thought that there should not be more people like me. I will participate in plasma donation once more in December.

Kwon Joon-wook, deputy director of the Central Disease Control Headquarters said, The donation of plasma from Shincheonji Church will eventually contribute to putting an end of COVID-19, and each heart and every action will serve as an example.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus volunteered the entire operation of fever checks, giving hand sanitizers, shuttle bus operation, and donation guidance, so that large-scale plasma donations could proceed smoothly. All the donators from Shincheonji Church did not receive payment for donation with 300,000 Korean won (US $280).

Plasma donation is a very valuable thing that can save someone’s life, and it is a life-sharing that only healers can do. We will not stop the donation this time but will continue for the end of COVID-19, said a Shincheonji official.
