Two new positive coronavirus cases have been registered this evening, one in Herat and one in the northern province of Samangan, officials at the Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday.

This is up from five, reported on Tuesday morning.

The first positive case in Samangan was reported this morning, and both today are in the first in the north of the country.

This morning the Public Health reported that "In the past 24 hours, a positive coronavirus, or Covid-19 case, has been registered in Samangan province, said Wahidullah Mayar, a spokesman for Ministry of Public Health, adding that "four of the other cases are registered in Herat province."

But later in the evening, Mayar reported two more cases of Covid-19 - one in Samangan and one in Herat. With this the total cases is now seven.

The first patient from Samangan this morning returned from Iran three days ago and "now is under treatment at the Samangan hospital," Mayar said.
