Joe Bidens star has fallen: Analyst

Former US Vice-President and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Bidens "record is one of misogyny, racism, spokesperson for the banking industry, war, Ukraine," an American political analyst and activist has said. "Its no surprise that Bidens star has fallen."

According to a new poll, Biden has declined sharply across the country, falling to the lowest on record since his poor performance in the Iowa primary election.

In contrast, support is continuing to increase for US Senator Bernie Sanders among Democratic Party voters, while interest is also surging for billionaire media mogul and former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, according to the Reuters/Ipsos survey released on Monday.

The opinion poll taken from Thursday to Monday found that 17 percent of voters registered as Democrats and independents said they would vote for Biden, down 5 percentage points from a similar survey conducted last week.

Biden: Three-time loser

Myles Hoenig said, "‘Third times the charm might be good for running a race, a marriage prospect, applying for a job, but not for running for president. In fairly recent memory, only Adlai Stevenson tried, and failed, to run for the office that many times. He finally lost to John Kennedy in 1960. Joe Biden isnt even the Stevenson of the 21st century. At least Stevenson did win the nomination twice for the Democratic Party."

"A matchup between Biden and Trump would have been very humorous to watch. Trumps lying braggadocio versus Bidens stupidity and awkward comments. But at least on stage he wouldnt have his wifes fingers to suck on," he said.

"Its no surprise that Bidens star has fallen. Hes trying to hitch a ride onto Obamas coattails while trying to avoid his dismal and pathetic record as a senator and vice president, which in all campaigns, often become the highlight of the opposition. Bidens record is one of misogyny, racism, spokesperson for the banking industry, war, Ukraine, as well as his numerous and awkward unwanted actions towards women. Sounds a lot like Trump, with a bit of Hillary thrown in," he observed.

"The only reason why he was the leading Democrat when it took him so long to decide to run was due to name recognition. Been around Washington for decades and of course Obamas yes-man for 8 years. He is going up against a number of unknown characters who have taken the limelight, more for their appearance and youth, like [former Mayor Pete] Buttigieg, and the older generation mostly appeals to their own," he said.

"Sanders is different, a year older, but far more authentic as a politician than anyone else running. He has had the same message for 40 years, that this is class warfare and the very wealthy have always been winning. This resonates enormously among the young, who have no baggage with the word ‘socialist, and many independents, including likely Trump supporters who gravitated to Trump in 2016 because Trump ran against the moneyed interests in Washington," he said.

"Biden opposes everything Sanders stands for and that is hurting his campaign. Very much like Hillary Clinton who promised as president she would never allow Medicare for All to be realized, even though back then and today, it is supported by a majority of Americans, including Republicans. These political dinosaurs of the past could only succeed in destroying the Democratic Party if they were to have won or win the nomination. Trump won for that reason and would win again with a Biden nomination, as so many of the most excited and motivated voters today (Sanderss supporters) will stay home in November," he concluded.
