A terrorist ringleader trained for "urban warfare" by the Israeli regime`s Mossad spy agency has been neutralized during clashes with Iranian intelligence forces.

Sadeq Ashtari, who had received his training at the hands of Mossad officers in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan, had led an attack on a police station in the capital Tehran`s Tehranpars area in January, various Iranian news outlets, which reported his fate on Saturday, noted.

The clashes also led to apprehension of the remaining members of the terror cell, the reports added.

The outlets identified the location targeted by the terrorists in early January as the Iranian Law Enforcement`s Police Station 126 in Tehranpars.

The site was targeted by the cell during United States- and Israeli-backed riots across Iran that erupted in order to try to divert sporadic economic protests across the country towards unrest.

The scheme, however, was promptly countered by Iranian intelligence and security forces, who rounded up ringleaders and seized weapon caches, including those bound for the capital.

American figures, themselves, have verified the foreign contribution to the riots, with former CIA chief Mike Pompeo openly confirming Mossad`s involvement.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that, while they remained focused on addressing domestic economic challenges, they would respond decisively to any threats against the country`s security, sovereignty, and territory.
