Pakistan`s defense minister said the country`s military operations against Taliban in Afghanistan would continue until Islamabad achieves its stated security objectives, signaling no immediate de-escalation in cross-border tensions.

In an interview with Geo News, Defense Minister Khawaja Khawaja Asif said the campaign was ongoing and would proceed "with full intensity," adding that Pakistani forces would not grant the Taliban additional time.

"The operations we have launched to achieve specific objectives are not yet complete," he said. "There will be no pause, and there is no doubt that operations inside Afghanistan will continue."

His remarks came a day after Pakistan`s Foreign Ministry declared that a temporary ceasefire with the Taliban had ended and warned that military operations would continue.

Pakistani officials have not publicly detailed what they describe as their final objectives in Afghanistan.

Taliban have not responded to Asif`s latest comments, though they have previously warned that they would retaliate against any cross-border attacks.

Over the past month, Pakistani forces have carried out strikes across more than 10 provinces, including Kabul, Kandahar, Panjshir, Balkh, Parwan, Kunar, Khost, Paktia, Nangarhar and Paktika, according to local accounts. Pakistani officials say the strikes have targeted militant infrastructure, training centers and security sites.

Taliban, however, have said Pakistan has targeted civilians, particularly in airstrikes in Kabul and other populated areas.

Human Rights Watch and the United Nations have reported that a recent Pakistani airstrike on a rehabilitation center in Kabul killed at least 143 civilians and injured more than 200 others, raising concerns about civilian harm.

The Taliban-Pakistan clashes started on Feb. 26, followed by airstrikes by Pakistani forces and border skirmishes in various provinces.
