The Israeli regime has reportedly drawn up plans for a renewed offensive in the Gaza Strip even as the US-brokered ceasefire moves closer to the second phase.

Citing Israeli officials, the Times of Israel reported on Sunday that the offensive is planned for March and is focused on Gaza City, where the Israeli military will push the so-called yellow line further west towards the coast of the territory.

The yellow line, established under US President Donald Trump`s 20-point Gaza plan, runs from northern Gaza to the outskirts of Rafah in the south.

Under the ceasefire that took effect in October 2025, Israeli forces pulled back to the yellow line and took control of more than half of the populated coastal territory.

The imaginary line is increasingly taking on a more permanent form and is being referred to in Israeli media as a "new border."

Despite the truce deal, the Israeli regime`s forces continue to occupy more than half of Gaza, including areas in the north and center.

Israel has also killed 439 Palestinians in three months and committed nearly 1,200 violations, including air strikes, shelling, and the demolition of homes.

Hamas said in a statement on Saturday that Israel`s military continues to violate the ceasefire agreement and obstruct the transition to a second phase of the deal, which includes an international stabilization force.

The resistance group called on the mediators and the countries guaranteeing the ceasefire agreement to condemn these grave violations.

Hamas said Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu had overseen the ceasefire violations and war crimes in Gaza "on false and fabricated pretexts" since he ordered the genocidal war on October 7, 2023.

The regime`s forces have killed more than 71,400 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including at least 20,000 children, according to the Palestinian health ministry. Thousands more are missing under the rubble.

Gaza`s civil defense and rescue services lack the heavy equipment to retrieve the bodies, as the weather has made living conditions worse in the coastal territory.

Meanwhile, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, warned that the conditions are worsening an already dire humanitarian situation, with flooding and collapsing shelters placing vulnerable families at greater risk.

Israel has maintained a blockade on Gaza, keeping boundary crossings closed and severely restricting humanitarian aid.
