Germany says it will lift restrictions on all military exports to Israel, even though the occupying regime continues to kill Palestinians in daily attacks across Gaza in violation of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

Government spokesman Stefan Kornelius told German news agency DPA on Monday that the measure will take effect on November 24, returning the country to a case-by-case review of arms export applications to the Israeli regime.

The spokesman pointed out that the decision was taken in light of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which has been in effect since October 10. He also said that efforts were being made to achieve lasting peace and improve humanitarian aid in Gaza.

The remarks come as three Palestinians lost their lives in an Israeli strike targeting southern Gaza on Sunday.

Israeli forces persist in violating the ceasefire agreement, launching assaults on the devastated region amid restricted aid and harsh winter conditions, which worsen the hardships faced by those affected.

Back on August 8, Germany suspended military exports to Israel under pressure from rights groups that the arms could be used in the genocidal war on Gaza.

The decision came amid Israel`s announcement of a full-scale ground offensive and the stopping of aid deliveries into Gaza.

"Under these circumstances, the German government will not authorize any exports of military equipment that could be used in the Gaza Strip until further notice," German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said at the time.

Germany supplied a third of the Israeli regime`s arms imports between 2020 and 2024, second only to weapons sales from the United States, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

The European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) has stated that Berlin`s approval of arms exports to Israel contravened international agreements previously signed by Germany, such as the Geneva Convention, which focuses on the prevention and punishment of genocide.
