Delivering his Eid message on Sunday President Ashraf Ghani warned the Taliban they have run out of time and again called on them to join the peace process.

He said: You don't have more time and if you are really Afghan than come to peace.

In his speech, during an Eid ceremony at the Presidential Palace, Ghani said to the Taliban that your supporters are alone and you will also be alone. We have support of the international community and the security forces that will stand against you.

Peace is our demand, but conditions are clear, Ghani said.

He also mentioned the visit to Kabul by China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi and said the purpose of this had been to discuss the peace process in Afghanistan.

The foreign ministry said Saturday the visiting minister was in Kabul to follow up on agreements signed between the Afghan and Chinese presidents earlier this month.

Ghani meanwhile said Sunday that on behalf of the nation and himself he was thanking the security forces for providing security to the country but recognized that this past month had been a deadly month.

He added that in the upcoming weeks government would announce a new economic plan to improve the situation in Kabul.

This comes after Taliban leader Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada said in his Eid message on Friday that the group is against the increase of foreign troops in Afghanistan.

He said in the message that after the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, Kabul will have friendly relations with Washington and with the rest of the world.
