Speaking on condition of anonymity an official said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has proposed that former minister of defense Abdullah Habibi be appointed as Afghan ambassador to Jordan and that ex-army chief of staff Qadam Shah Shaheem be posted as envoy to Kazakhstan.

These two officials announced their resignations on Monday following a deadly Taliban attack on 209 Shaheen Army Corps in the northern province of Balkh.

The attack on the army camp and failure by these officials to thwart the plot was met by an outcry within the country.

The expectations were that when these officials tendered their resignations, they must be introduced to the legal and judicial institutions for investigations; today representatives of the people again called on government to investigate them, said MP Sadeqi Neelizada.

It means they commit oppression against the people of Afghanistan and are rewarded for it, after this, if anyone commits an act of oppression, then he will get a good reward, political commentator Ahmad Saeedi said.

Based on the military law, whenever an army official quits his post due to negligence, then he should be held accountable.

However, many people believe government rewards such negligence.

The people of Afghanistan will not believe that this government will be a responsive government to them and the blood of the martyrs, said the head of the civil society association Aziz Rafaee.

In the past, President Ashraf Ghani has appointed several officials to positions of ambassador following indiscretions or negligence on their part.
