Atta Mohammad Noor, has criticized former Afghan President Hamid Karzai over his approach toward the Taliban and the country`s current political and social situation.

In an open letter addressed to Karzai, Noor acknowledged their past cooperation and said he had long respected the former president. He nevertheless accused Karzai of helping create conditions that facilitated the Taliban`s political legitimacy during his presidency, arguing that those policies contributed to Afghanistan`s current crisis.

Noor also accused Karzai of contributing to Ashraf Ghani`s rise to power through what he described as "ethnic politics and prejudice." He said responsibility for Afghanistan`s current situation should not be attributed to a single individual, but argued that former political leaders bear a significant share of responsibility.

The Jamiat leader criticized the Taliban`s restrictions on girls` education and women`s participation in society, as well as Afghanistan`s international isolation and worsening economic and social conditions. He also questioned Karzai`s recent comments about the situation facing ordinary Afghans.

Noor further referred to Karzai`s continued residence in Kabul, his security arrangements and access to financial resources, arguing that this situation contrasts sharply with the difficult conditions experienced by many Afghans.

The former Balkh governor said he wrote the letter out of concern for the suffering of Afghan society and the people, adding that he did not expect a response from Karzai.
