US President Donald Trump`s approval rating has collapsed to just 33 percent, the lowest level of his entire presidency, as an overwhelming majority of Americans express deep concern that Washington`s war of aggression against Iran will drag on indefinitely, according to a fresh Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The four-day survey, which concluded on Monday, found that only one-third of respondents approved of Trump`s performance in the White House, while a decisive 64 percent disapproved. The figure marks a further drop from 35 percent earlier this month and ties the lowest rating recorded during Trump`s first term in December 2017.

An astonishing 80 percent of Americans, including 87 percent of Democrats and even 71 percent of Republicans, believe US involvement in the conflict with Iran "will go on for an extended period of time." Just 16 percent still cling to the hope that the war could end within a few weeks.

The poll lays bare the growing domestic backlash against the costly and failed military adventure launched by the Trump administration alongside the Israeli regime.

The latest numbers arrive as a 60-day negotiation window under a temporary memorandum of understanding expires with no meaningful progress toward a just resolution, further evidence that the aggressors remain trapped in a quagmire of their own making.
