US Vice President JD Vance says members of the Israeli regime are funding campaigns aimed at undermining US negotiations with Iran and influencing American public opinion in an effort to prolong the war "indefinitely."

Vance made the remarks during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast on Wednesday, citing a Time magazine investigation that revealed Israeli authorities had paid US President Donald Trump`s former campaign manager and digital strategist Brad Parscale to lead a high-budget influence operation targeting US conservatives.

"There are some people within their system, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt, who are manipulating and trying to change American public opinion to keep the war going on indefinitely," Vance said.

He stated there had been a "very discreet, extremely well-funded campaign" aimed at derailing negotiations with Iran and preventing a possible agreement.

"You have seen this very discreet, extremely well-funded campaign to try to derail the negotiation and try to derail the deal," Vance said, stressing that the effort was aimed at prolonging the war rather than achieving any specific objective.

Vance also said individuals connected to figures in the Israeli regime had organized a campaign against him personally, including leaks to journalists and attacks on social media, in an effort to undermine his push for a deal with Iran based on Trump`s guidelines.

"When I see there`s a literal foreign influence campaign being funded to take the very deal I was pursuing, and many of the people receiving that money were attacking me in dishonest ways. My response is ‘go to hell,`" he said.

The remarks came as tensions continue over the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran maintaining restrictions on shipping through the key Persian Gulf waterway that handled about one-fifth of global oil supplies before the start of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran in late February.

Vance said, "I am very frustrated with Americans who say that you can`t negotiate with the Iranians," adding that "you can bomb the Iranians and destroy some of their capabilities, but it`s easy to fire on ships in the strait, and we must be prepared for dialogue."

He further insisted that the United States "will not send 150,000 ground troops to achieve regime change" in Iran.

Earlier in June, Vance lashed out at Israeli opponents of the Iran deal, saying Trump was Israel`s only ally, in a sharp rebuke that referenced the billions of dollars in US military aid provided to the occupied entity.

The vice president also addressed accusations of antisemitism made against him by pro-Israel conservatives in the United States, saying he had been unfairly targeted for calling for a more candid relationship between Washington and Tel Aviv when their interests do not fully align.

"People have come after me saying I`m influenced by Qatar, that I`m influenced by foreign governments, that I take my marching orders from Tucker Carlson. There`s just so much bullshit out there," Vance said.

During the wide-ranging interview, Vance also commented on the Trump administration`s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, saying that the sex-offender "seemed to be connected" to elements of the "Israeli deep state" as well as the "highest levels of American intelligence," while acknowledging that the Trump administration had mishandled its response to the case.

During the discussion, Rogan referred to statements linking Epstein to Israel`s Mossad intelligence agency, to which Vance responded: "Yeah, Mossad or CIA or some other deep state."
