Taliban Warns Pakistan: Continued Attacks May Lead to Internal Fragmentation
A senior Taliban official has strongly condemned recent Pakistani military actions inside Afghanistan territory, warning that continued strikes could trigger internal instability in Pakistan, including rising divisions and potential fragmentation.
Shir Ahmad Haqqani made the remarks during a meeting titled "Enhancing Intellectual, Ideological and Professional Capacity of Journalists" in Kapisa Province. He described the recent attacks as "oppressive" and warned that harm to civilians would not go unanswered. According to him, sustained military pressure could intensify internal disputes within Pakistan and even lead to its possible disintegration. Haqqani stressed that Afghans are not intimidated by airstrikes, claiming that the Taliban had previously faced and resisted better-equipped forces than the Pakistani military. He also rejected the killing of civilians as a sign of victory and called on Islamabad to halt its operations. Tensions between Kabul and Islamabad have escalated in recent weeks amid cross-border incidents and rising insecurity along the frontier regions.
