The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned the United States and its allies against any miscalculation in the Persian Gulf, as US President Donald Trump renewed his threats against the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC Navy said in a post on X that any wrong move by the US and its allies will plunge them "into a deadly whirlpool of destruction in the Strait."

The IRGC has restricted the Persian Gulf waterway after the US-Israeli illegal war of aggression on Iran on February 28.

The Iranian elite military force, which has full authority over the waterway, allows only civilian vessels to pass under specific regulations.

It has repeatedly warned that any attempt by military vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz will face a harsh confrontation.

As a major transit point for about 20 percent of global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments, the restrictions on transit in the Strait of Hormuz have roiled the global energy market.

cure an agreement with Iran over the energy lifeline, is growing more frustrated after a marathon 21-hour diplomatic effort failed to produce a deal in Islamabad.

In a post on his Truth Social, the US president said that American naval forces will impose a full naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

"Effective immediately," he wrote, the US Navy, "will begin the process of blockading any and all ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz."

The US president claimed that "other countries" would participate in the blockade, though he has so far failed to secure the backing of his NATO allies.

Trump claimed that the US navy will "begin destroying the mines the Iranians laid in the Straits, urging Iran to "end this situation."

He once again threatened that the US military is "fully locked and loaded" and "will finish up the little that is left of Iran."

Trump has repeatedly claimed victory over Iran. Nevertheless, he announced a two-week ceasefire, proposed by Pakistan, just hours before his final deadline for the annihilation of "the whole civilization" in Iran was set to expire on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Iranian military officials have warned that while they do not seek war, they are fully prepared to defend the country`s national sovereignty, making it clear that any attempt to enforce a blockade or commit further aggression will trigger decisive retaliatory strikes.
