The Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has issued a formal protest to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, demanding an immediate end to the agency`s inaction following repeated military strikes against Iran`s sovereign nuclear infrastructure.

Mohammad Eslami, in a letter dispatched on Monday, detailed a series of cruel and illegal attacks carried out by the United States and the Israeli regime, with the most recent aggression occurring on Sunday when the Natanz nuclear site was targeted in two separate waves of strikes.

Eslami argued that these strikes directly violate the Geneva Conventions, the IAEA Statute, and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

"It is imperative that the Agency immediately terminates its current state of inactivity and fulfills its statutory duties by condemning these measures that contravene international rules," he wrote.

He warned that Tehran is prepared to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereign rights and will pursue legal action against Grossi personally for failing to uphold the Agency`s obligations.

The letter lamented that the fresh attacks follow the Agency`s failure to condemn the June 2025 strikes on Iran`s peaceful nuclear industry, particularly noting that the IAEA Board of Governors has become a tool for the United States and its allies.

The letter was issued after Grossi claimed in a statement to the 35-nation Board of Governors on Monday that the Agency has "no indication" of damage based on satellite imagery.

The current escalation follows the 12-day war of June 2025, during which US-Israeli forces launched a massive campaign against Iran`s nuclear heartland.

Despite the unprecedented nature of those strikes, the IAEA remained silent, a position Tehran views as a green light for continued Western-backed lawlessness.

Iran has strongly protested Grossi for his refusal to condemn those attacks, describing his conduct as yet another manifestation of acting under the influence of the United States and its allies.
