Iran`s President Masoud Pezeshkian says the United States is mistaken in believing that its tactics against other adversaries can be applied to Iran, insisting that the Iranian people remain alert to any attempts to destabilize the country.

Pezeshkian made the remarks Saturday during a meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, who is in Tehran for talks with Iranian officials on key regional and international issues.

Pointing to Washington`s "hypocritical behavior" during indirect nuclear talks with Iran, Pezeshkian said the United States "attacked diplomacy and negotiations" in the midst of the discussions and committed "crimes against humanity" and violated all international norms.

"Believing that the Islamic Republic of Iran is like other countries, the US is pursuing the same measures by encouraging certain individuals to create chaos and riots," he said.

He added that the Iranian people "will support the country and the [Islamic] establishment more strongly than before."

The president said the United States and Israel were undermining global peace, stability, and security.

"The US and the Zionist regime are making every effort to prolong war and insecurity in the region, prevent unity among Muslim countries, and create discord to advance their sinister goals," Pezeshkian said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Pezeshkian said expanding relations with neighboring and Muslim countries remains a strategic priority for Iran.

He added that Oman holds a special place in Iran`s foreign policy due to deep cultural and political ties, and said Tehran is committed to implementing bilateral agreements and strengthening cooperation with Muscat in all fields.

For his part, Al Busaidi said Iran is a strategic partner for Oman and a central pillar of peace, stability, and security in the region.

The Omani foreign minister said Iran has adopted a "wise and principled" approach by prioritizing diplomacy and dialogue to resolve issues based on international law.

He added that many countries, including European states, believe the Israeli regime is the main source of instability in the region.
