Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says no country has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of independent states.

Araghchi made the remarks in a joint press conference with his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi in Tehran on Saturday after nearly 1.5 hours of private talks behind closed doors.

"The independent sovereignty of countries is a main principle in international law and internal affairs of countries cannot be settled except through talks," he said.

Iran, Oman firmly oppose Yemen`s disintegration

Araghchi said Iran and Oman regularly hold close consultations on regional issues, including the latest developments in Yemen.

"Iran and Oman oppose any plan to disintegrate Yemen and this is the firm stance of [countries] in the region that the Zionist regime should not be allowed to reach its goals to weaken and disintegrate regional countries because such a scheme will lead to instability, unrest and tension in the region," the top Iranian diplomat added.

He stressed the importance of maintaining integrity of Somalia, Syria and other countries in the region, warning of the Israeli regime`s plots to fragment countries.

He emphasized that issues in Yemen must be solved only by its own people.

The Iranian foreign minister noted that regional countries which are concerned about peace and stability in the region would strive to play a role in this regard.

He said both Iran and Oman are committed to cooperation with the purpose of maintaining stability and security in the Persian Gulf and establishing peace and stability in the region.

Iran, Oman resolved to improve all-out ties

Araghchi said Iran and Oman have always strived to promote relations based on good neighborliness and prevent foreign plots to sow discord among regional countries.

"We are determined to continue and expand relations with Oman based on mutual respect and good neighborliness," he reiterated.

He said a joint economic commission will be held in Tehran in the near future.
