Taliban to Trump: U.S. Embassy, Yes - Bagram, No

Zabihullah Mujahid, the chief spokesperson for the Taliban, has responded to the United States reported request to regain control of Bagram Airbase, asserting that Afghanistan will never allow its land or military bases to be handed over to any foreign country.

According to AnsarPress, Mujahid made the remarks during a press conference in Kabul, where he emphasized that the Taliban government considers Afghanistan`s sovereignty and territorial integrity non-negotiable.

When asked about U.S. intentions to reclaim Bagram Airbase, Mujahid stated:
"Bagram is an inseparable part of our homeland. We will never permit any foreign military presence on Afghan soil, and any act of aggression against our territory will be met with a response."

He further clarified that while the Taliban seeks diplomatic engagement with all countries, including the United States, such relations must be civil and sovereign, not military in nature.

Mujahid added:
"We welcome political and diplomatic relations with the entire world, including America. If the United States wishes to reestablish ties, it may reopen its embassy in Kabul - but Bagram will remain Afghanistan`s own."

The statement comes amid renewed international speculation over Washington`s interest in regaining strategic footholds in the region following increasing instability and counterterrorism concerns, but the Taliban`s response underscores their uncompromising stance on foreign military presence in Afghanistan.
