The German Foreign Ministry has issued a travel advisory for autumn 2025, urging its citizens to exercise caution when traveling to the United Kingdom, Jamaica, Afghanistan, Kenya, and Andorra. The ministry also called on all foreign nationals, particularly Western citizens, to leave Afghanistan immediately due to worsening security conditions.

According to AnsarPress, the advisory places these five countries under high-risk categories, citing different security concerns for each destination.

• United Kingdom: Rated level 3 out of 5 on Germany’s threat scale, due to heightened concerns about potential terrorist attacks and political unrest.

• Jamaica: Listed because of a significant rise in violent crime, including armed robberies and assaults.

• Afghanistan: Classified as an extreme-risk country under Taliban rule, due to ongoing violence, terrorist threats, and a high risk of kidnappings, especially targeting foreigners.

• Kenya: Faces terrorism threats and political instability in certain regions.

• Andorra: Included in the list due to infrastructure concerns and potential civil disruptions linked to regional instability.

In a separate security notice, the German Foreign Ministry specifically warned foreign nationals—particularly Westerners—to leave Afghanistan as soon as possible. The advisory emphasized that the risk of kidnapping, violence, and arbitrary detention is extremely high, and that dual nationals face additional danger because the Taliban consider individuals of Afghan origin solely as Afghan citizens, thereby denying them consular protection.

The ministry noted that this travel warning comes at a time when global travel is rebounding, yet many popular destinations have become increasingly unsafe. It urged German citizens to reconsider travel plans to these regions or, if travel is unavoidable, to exercise the highest level of caution.

This warning underscores Berlin’s growing concern over global instability, particularly in conflict zones like Afghanistan, where foreigners remain vulnerable amid Taliban crackdowns and deteriorating security conditions.
