Iran`s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called for a negotiated settlement to the ongoing nuclear dispute with the United States, warning against military escalation and "imaginary" threats.

In a post on X, Araghchi said the previous rounds of talks with the US were close to producing a historic deal, but US President Donald Trump erred by heeding Israel`s calls for a military approach based on fabricated intelligence.

Araghchi drew a parallel with the Iraq war in 2003, pointing to Israel`s role in pushing America toward conflict based on faulty claims about Iraq`s weapons of mass destruction.

He said a wrong decision at that time led to "unfathomable destruction, thousands of dead American soldiers, and 7 trillion American taxpayer dollars down the drain."

The Iranian minister said similar alarmism is directed toward Iran, adding that there was never credible evidence that Tehran was "within a month" of developing a nuclear weapon, adding that Israel was seeking to deceive the US into aggression.

"With the failure of that action, Israel is now trying to make an imaginary threat out of our defense capabilities," he said. "Americans have had enough of fighting Israel`s Forever Wars."

He emphasized Iran`s resilience against pressure campaigns and aggression, warning that military escalation or continued coercion will not resolve the dispute.

"Iran is a Great Country and Iranians are a Great Nation, the heirs of a Great and Ancient Civilization. Buildings and machines can be destroyed, but our determination will NEVER be shaken. Doubling down on that miscalculation does not resolve anything," he said.

"There is NO solution but a negotiated outcome."

Iran and the US held five rounds of indirect talks to find a replacement for the 2015 nuclear deal, which was derailed in 2018 by the unilateral US withdrawal.

However, before the sixth round, Israel and the US launched a 12-day aggression against Iran, killing hundreds of civilians.

Iran blames excessive US demands for the failure of the talks, saying it will never dismantle its nuclear enrichment activities.
