The Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has strongly condemned the torture tactics by America's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) used to interrogate Al-Qaeda suspects since 9/11 attacks.

The U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday released a report of over 500 pages detailing the grotesque CIA interrogation tactics.

Condemning the brutal methods of interrogation, President Ghani in a press conference on Wednesday evening called on restoration of dignity of Afghan suspects tortured since the attacks on America's World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

Our Constitution values human rights, Ghani declared. We want to know the exact number of Afghans tortured and also we want restoration of their dignity.

Calling CIA's torture tactics inhumane, Ghani expressed that all human values were violated by the agency.

From 1st January 2015 onward, no international institution has the right to detain an Afghan and torture them, Ghani warned.

Once former President Hamid Karzai returns the country, Ghani added all the Afghan elites, rights activists and prominent figures will sit together to discuss this issue.

According to the US Senate report, the interrogation techniques were used under a program authorized by former U.S. President George W. Bush, however, he was not briefed during the first four years of the program.

The report reveals the CIA paid two psychologists more than $80 million to come up with torture methods.

Additionally, the report found the agency paid millions of dollars, in cash, to foreign governments to get them to host black sites where interrogations were held.

Torture programs described in the report include rectal feeding, sleep deprivation, insects, use of diapers, and mock executions. According to the report, rectal hydration was used as a means of behavior control.
