UN, Afghan Women Demand Answers Over More Missing Activists
Mursal Ayar, a member of Junbish-e-Zanan, has been detained by the Islamic Emirate in Kabul, her colleagues claimed, saying that she was taken to an unknown location.
A second female activist has allegedly gone missing in the last day, but confirmed information is not yet available. There is no information about the fate of Ayar, her colleagues said. They called on the international community to press the Islamic Emirate to provide details about the fate of the women who went missing. Yesterday, ten Taliban force members stormed into the house of Mursal and took her, said Shamayal Tawana, a womens right activist. Mursal Ayar has repeatedly protested in Kabul, calling on the Islamic Emirate to ensure womens rights. Over two weeks ago, Tamana Paryani and Parwana Ibrahimkhil went missing. UN repeats its call for all disappeared women activists & relatives to be released.
