Mursal Ayar, a member of Junbish-e-Zanan, has been detained by the Islamic Emirate in Kabul, her colleagues claimed, saying that she was taken to an unknown location.

A second female activist has allegedly gone missing in the last day, but confirmed information is not yet available.

There is no information about the fate of Ayar, her colleagues said.

They called on the international community to press the Islamic Emirate to provide details about the fate of the women who went missing.

Yesterday, ten Taliban force members stormed into the house of Mursal and took her, said Shamayal Tawana, a women�s right activist.

Mursal Ayar has repeatedly protested in Kabul, calling on the Islamic Emirate to ensure women�s rights.

Over two weeks ago, Tamana Paryani and Parwana Ibrahimkhil went missing.

However, Islamic Emirate officials said that they have not received any information over the detention of Ayar.

This is new...We haven�t heard about it. We are looking for information, said Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.

UNAMA also reacted to the disappearance of the women�s rights activists.

Urgent information sought from Interior Ministry today by UNAMA on latest reported detentions over last 24hrs by the Taliban of a further two women activists in Kabul, said UNAMA. UN repeats its call for all disappeared women activists & relatives to be released.
