The US judge assigned for the case of Ghislaine Maxwell says she will question 231 candidates to pick the 12 jurors and six alternates for her trial, which could see her jailed for decades.

The jurors will, in part, be asked whether thy have opinions on people who are wealthy or have luxurious lifestyles, or if they are related to the victims of sex trafficking, said US District Judge Alison Nathan, according to Reuters.

In a recent interview, Maxwell, who has pleaded not guilty, complained about tough conditions in prison and the guards that keep staring at her during shower time.

Those accusing Maxwell of grooming teenage girls for sexual abuse by the disgraced pedophile could be called victims by prosecutors, the Manhattan federal court judge had previously ruled.

She also ruled last month that the press would have access to jury selection proceedings for Maxwell, citing the First Amendment of the United States constitution.

We�re all aware that there�s been intense media and public interest in this case. ... These procedures will ensure the First Amendment rights to public access as is necessary and required by law, Nathan said at the time.

Maxwell, who was arrested at her secluded mansion in New Hampshire in July 2020, is facing six counts of sex trafficking in relation to recruitment of girls for Epstein.

The British citizen allegedly acted as a pimp for Epstein by procuring underage girls for his sexual gratification.

Epstein allegedly committed suicide in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, more than a decade after his conviction for soliciting prostitution from minors.
