Iran have earned a crucial 3-0 win over Bahrain in Group C.

Iran, who were in dire need of a win to keep alive their hopes for the top spot, broke the dead-lock, when Mehdi Taremi set up Sardar Azmon for the opener in the 54th minute.

The two combined for the 2nd one as well, with Taremi providing again and Sardar slotted home through the legs of the keeper.

Taremi got his deserved goal in the 79th minute to complete a fabulous night for the Iranians. The three points saw Iran leapfrog Bahrain into second place on 12 points, two behind Iraq with both sides having two matches remaining. Iran will play Cambodia on Friday.
