Some top Republicans are speaking out against President Donald Trump over his response to the murder of George Floyd and the ensuing protests seeking justice. Former President George W. Bush and Senator Mitt Romney both said they would not back their partys nominee in the upcoming presidential election, The New York Times reported. Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who ran against Trump in 206, would also refuse to support Trump in November, sources close to the former president said. Romney also said in February that he would write his wifes name in the ballot or vote for a different candidate. This is while, former Secretary of State Colin Powell has even Gove as far as saying he would vote for Trumps rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, a Democrat. Widow of Senator John McCain, whom Trump used to regularly attack, is also likely to withdraw support for the presidents 2020 bid. Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski also said last week that she was struggling on whether to endorse the former reality TV star. Trump has been under pressure for his response to the nationwide protest after the murder of Floyd , an African American, by a white police officer, whose footage outraged the nation.
